Taking serious note over the media report regarding handing over 1.4 square mile area of Choro Khunou under Kamjong Block of Ukhrul district to Myanmar to settle boundary dispute, United Committee Manipur (UCM) has demanded the state government to immediately look into the matter and publicly clarify its' stand on the issue.
Contending that not a single speck of land could be compromised, Ng Deba Meetei, Secretary IPR of UCM said that the portion of Choro Khunou lying in between Indo-Myanmar border must not be given away at any cost.
But if Manipur has right over some area or portion of Myanmar then UCM would defiantly fight to gain it back.
UCM is serious about territorial integrity and it had never agreed to reorganization of border pillars and always ready to fight for protection of territorial integrity of Manipur.
Any of the leaders in Manipur should never thought of or be an accomplice in the secret plan of giving away any portion of land belonging to Manipur to another nation.
Instead they should ponder over the problems being faced by people living in border areas, Deba asserted.
Thanking communities residing along the border areas for safeguarding the state's territory intact till today, UCM also appealed all to protect the territorial integrity of the Manipur together.
