One Million Heroes to launch motivational books for children

As part of its One Million Heroes project, which is aimed at motivating the children in the post-Covid world, Sanarp Singapore organised 'Meet Our Heroes' programme at Hotel Classic Grande, here on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, One Million Heroes and Sanarp Singapore founder and CEO Shweta Singh Karam noted that the Covid-19 pandemic brought a significant change in the lives of the people.
Several children lost their parents or grandparents during the pandemic.
At that time, Sanarp Singapore wanted to do something for the children, which will last for years, and they did not want to engage in temporary measures like raising fund to buy oxygen concentrators.
As per study reports, 1.5 million children either lost their parents or grandparents while 100 million children faced difficulties in accessing education.
In the search of a sustainable programme, they came up with One Million Heroes project, which will motivate the children through role models, she said.
Under the project, they will first publish a book called 'The Heroes We Aspire' containing brief life stories of 50 famous sportspersons of the country.
The book will be published as e-book and physical book in August this year.
Each player (heroes) will have two pages in the book.
While one page will contain brief stories of the players and the other their hand painted pictures.
Five sportspersons from the state will feature in the first book, she said.
One Million Heroes team member and writer retired IAS RK Nimai said that apart from the book, the team will develop a gallery for the heroes in Metaverse.
Future series of the book will contain stories of different achievers in different fields till the team reaches stories of one million heroes.
One Million Heroes project team also felicitated Arjuna award winning players Oinam Bembem and Yumnam Sanathoi by presenting gifts on the occasion.
However, Sanathoi could not attend the event due to her health condition and Bembem received the gift on her behalf.
Babina Hospitality Pvt Ltd MD Dr Thangjam Dhabali spoke on 'Why Manipur needs role models/heroe's' while IAS Pooja Elangbam spoke on 'How do books become a window to the new world, why books are important for children and all'.
One Million Heroes and Sanarp Singapore founder Monish Karam also attended the programme.
