NRFM cadre, illegal wildlife product dealer held

Imphal, October 04 2015:
Troops of the 45 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) established a vehicle check post in general area Pangai and apprehended one NRFM cadre on October 3 .
In statement, PRO HQ IGAR (S) said the apprehendee was identified as Santa Yumlembam (28), son of Late Yaima of Singjamei Bheigyapati Leikai Imphal East.
Investigation revealed that he had been providing administrative support to NRFM chief and had also received order from NRFM chief to collect money from various businessmen, contractors, and Government Departments.
The apprehendee has been handed over to the Heingang Police Station.
Meanwhile, troops of the 24 Assam Rifles established a vehicle check post at Khudengthabi and apprehended an individual along with illegal wildlife product on the same day.
The apprehendee was identified as Inaotomba (31), son of Khundrakpam Rajen of village Moreh Ward No-7, Chandel.
He was travelling in a Maruti van bearing registration number MN-05H-5540.During the frisking and checking, one turtle weighing around 1.198 kg which worth Rs 20'000 was recovered from his possession.
The apprehendee along with the recovered item has been handed over to the Forest Department, Imphal.
