KCP quartet held; arms, ammos recovered

Imphal, December 03 2024: Kakching district police commandos arrested four members of KCP (P.WG) from Kakching Lamkhai area on Monday around 9.45 pm.

The arrested quartet has been identified as S Premkumar (45) of Wangoi Longjam Leikai, S Sidan (33) of Heirok Heituppokpi Part 1, Kh Tomba (40) of Thoubal Babu Bazar, and N Haridash of Kakching Lamkhai.

The CDO team seized one M20 pistol, a demand letter of KCP (PWG) and 80 blank tax receipts from their possession.

Police said that they are involved in extortion activities along the national highway.

Meanwhile, security forces recovered of arms and ammunition from Kangpokpi and Churachandpur districts during search operations and area domination exercises conducted in the fringe and vulnerable areas of hill and valley districts on Monday.

The security forces recovered one sniper rifle, one modified Lathode gun, two 9mm pistols with magazines, one SBBL gun.

seven rounds, one fired Lathode case, one 38mm anti-riot cartridge with a rubber bullet, three tear smoke shells, two stun grenades, and one Baofeng wireless set from Loibol Khunou in Kangpokpi district, according to police control room.

In Phaikhothang village, Churachandpur district, security forces recovered one SLR rifle with magazine, one 9mm pistol, one 12-bore single-barrel gun, 15 rounds, one tracer round, two CS tear smoke shalls, and four rubber bullets.
