Dr Sorojini's 'Nakenthada Basanta' released

Imphal, September 03 2014: A short story book entitled "Nakenthada Basanta" written by Dr.Kh.

Sorojini was formally released at a function held at the official residence of Kakching A/C MLA Y.Surchandra at Babupara here today.

Education Minister M.Okendro and eminent lyricist B.Jayantakumar Sharma graced the occasion as chief guest and the president respectively, while Prof..NAruna, Manipur University introduced the book to the gathering.

Releasing the book, Minister M.Okendro pointed out that the short story 'Rajniti' as included in the book gives important ideas to the people.

All 60 MLAs will be highly benefited in reading the book, he said while assuring to make arrangement for purchase of the book for the Education Department.

.BJayantakumar Sharma, who is also the president of Hueiyen Lanpao Columnist Forum, conceded that there is no sphere which literature does not cover today.

'Speaking' is the language while 'writing' refers to literature, he observed, and said that both are inalienable components of human society.

Mentioning the importance for books in social reformation, Jayantakumar, who was also a former President of Manipur Sahitya Parishad, appealed to all concerned to make efforts for making Manipuri a classic language.

Although Manipur is a small society, its language has the criteria to become a Classic language, he added.
