Students intercepted, handed over to family

Three young students, who ran away from their boarding school and were proceeding towards Moreh were intercepted by Tengnoupal police today at about 11.30 am and later handed over to their respective family members.
The three students, all boarders of Grace Reach Academy, Hiyanglam Lai-pangal have been named as Ng Boris (14), a class VIII student, son of late Hemanta of Lamshang Awang Leikai, Oinam Tyson (13) a class VI student, son of Santa of Upokpi, Bishnupur district and Khumujam Alice (13) a class VII student, son of Nimai of Sagolband Sapam Leirak.
According to the police, the three children were seen moving towards Moreh with backpacks on foot and this aroused their suspicion, prompting the police to stop them and quiz them.
The differences in the answers provided by them as well as their Attempt to conceal their true identities aroused the suspicion of the police and they detained, said police.
Subsequently, the three students confessed that they had run away from their boarding school at about 4 a in the morning as they were unhappy with the conditions there.
According to them, they hitched rides upto Pallel and then proceeded on foot from their.
Later in the day, the police got in touch the authority of Grace Reach Academy and family members and handed them to their respective families.
