Chandel, July 02 2015 : Public Distribution System (PDS) rice for distribution the public of 41-Chandel A/c was distributed to respective agents during an event that took place at the FCI godown located near district treasury office in Chandel on Thursday.

Out of 43 agents functional in the 41 �Chandel A/c, a total of about 35 agents turned up to get their share depending upon the total household population of the agent's operational area at a subsidised rate of Rs 7 per KG.

PA to MLA of 41-Chandel, RT Franky while briefing news persons informed that MLA of 41�Chandel St Nunghlung Victor initiated to procure the rice from the department, CAF&PD of the State Government.

"Under his initiative and the support and cooperation received from the Deputy Commissioner Robert Singh Khetrimayum, availability of rice for distribution at nominal rate was possible", said Franky.

He further informed that all agents have been strictly warned for fair distribution in their respective areas and informed that the same distribution would take place on Friday at Chakpikarong Bazar and Sugnu Tribal Colony.

Franky also thanked the Chandel SP for providing escort for safe transportation of the rice to the district headquarters.
