Four including woman held with heroin

Kakching district police arrested three people including a woman along with 680 grams of heroin from Laimanai Chingjin area on Thursday at around 11.30 am.
Informing this during a press conference held at his office premises here, Kakching SP Shrey Vats said that the CDO team including women personnel led by subedar Kshetrimayum Prakash intercepted the trio during a frisking operation at the CDO check post located at Laimanai Chingjin along Imphal-Moreh highway.
The three arrested individuals have been identified as Paominlal Misao (20) son of Thangjang Misao of T Tonglhang village, Lhunkhopao Baite (33) son of Tongkhoson Baite of H Wanomjang village, and Lamkholhing (61) wife of Onkhongam of HT Gamnomphai village.
They came from Pallel and were heading towards Imphal in a white colour Maruti Van (AR03-3555) when they were stopped.
Upon checking, the CDO team found the heroin in 55 soap cases hidden in a modified fuel tank.
The seized drugs weighed 689 grams.
The three along with the seized drugs and vehicle have been handed over to Kakching police station, the SP said.
Meanwhile, a combined team of Imphal East district police commando and Heingang police station arrested a man with heroin during a frisking and checking operation conducted at Mantripukhri bazar on Friday.
The arrested man has been identified as Md Wahidur Ra-haman (28) s/o Md Nasir Khan of Sora Khunou, Kakching district, presently residing at Mantripukhri Friends' Colony.
According to a police report, the combined team arrested Wahidur from Mantripukhri bazar at around 5.15 pm.
The team seized a soap case from his possession, which contained 16 plastic vials filled with heroin powder and a plastic bottle also containing heroin.
On questioning, Wahidur revealed that he had been peddling heroin for the past 2-3 months.
He purchased the heroin from one Thoibi of Sora for sale in Mantripukhri area at twice the original purchased rate.
Both Wahidur and the seized drug have been handed over to Heingang police station for further legal action, the report conveyed.
