Noney, November 30 2020: At least 4 people died on the spot and 5 others were seriously injured when a truck met with an accident at Tongjei Maril (Old Cachar Road) at Longsai Part-2 under Khoupum police station, Noney district, this evening, reports our correspondent.

The deceased have been identified as Ningthoujam Netrajit; Oinam Thoiba; Konsam Sanathoi and Moirangthem John Singh.

All the 4 deceased were natives of Bishnupur district.

Locals rushed to the spot and rescued the injured persons.

They were admitted at Bishnupur district hospital after first aid.

Reports culled from the spot stated that the truck was coming from Imphal to drop iron and cement at Tamenglong Dist HQs, for the construction of FCI godown.

The Khoupum police personnel picked up the corpses.
