Youth must strive for a better society: Gaikhangam

The annual get-together of Komrem Students' Union, Manipur was held at the auditorium of Tribal Research Institute (TRI), Chingmeirong here today.
The occasion was graced by Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam as Chief Guest and President of KRU(NEI) Lalkhomang Serto as President, while Chairman of MTDC T Manga Vaiphei and MLA of Chandel A/C ST Nunghlung Victor attended as Guests of Honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam said that Manipur is a land of more than 30 tribes living together in peace and harmony.
The Kom tribes, though small in numbers, have made significant contributions to the State.
Furthermore, the youths must strive for a better society tomorrow, he exhorted.
He further advised the students to be well-disciplined, punctual, hard-working and patriotic in order to be successful in their life as responsible citizens of the nation.
Prizes for the painting competition organized by Komrem Students' Union were also distributed to the winners during the occasion.
