Governor, CM, others greet on New Year

Imphal, December 31 2021: Governor La Ganesan, chief minister N Biren, ministers, MLAs, several individuals, CSOs and political parties extended greetings to the people of Manipur on the occasion of New Year.

In his message, Governor Ganesan stated that New Year day is for making new resolutions and also urged the general public to take a resolution to work together in the year 2022 for creating harmony and peace in the whole of Manipur.

Similarly, CM Biren said that the New Year is a time of reflection and contemplation.

Highlighting that 2021 has been a year of progress coupled with landmark achievements for the state, he also expressed hope and confidence that the state will continue to move on the road to greater progress.

Manipur Legislative Assembly speaker Y Khemchand Singh, IPR minister Th Biswajit Singh, CAF&PD minister Th Satyabrata Singh, Agriculture minister O Lukhoi Singh, former chief minister O Ibobi Singh, Patsoi MLA AK Mirabai Devi, Kangpokpi MLA Nemcha Kipgen, BJP Manipur Pradesh president ASharda Devi and Manipur Pradesh Congress president N Loken also wished people of Manipur a prosperous 2022.On the other hand, several CSOs and political parties of the state namely All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO), Kangleipak Students' Association (KSA), Manipur People's Democratic Front (MPDF), Communist Party of India Manipur State Council and Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) extended New Vear's greetings.

In separate releases, the CSOs and political parties wished for peace and prosperity to reign in the state and also urged the people to work collectively to build an image of unity and integrity.

They also prayed to the Almighty to safeguard the people from the ravages of Covid-19 with the coming of the New Year.

Noney (Longmai) District Working Journalists' Union (NoDWJU) also extended its heartiest greetings.

In a release, Union's publicity secretary Gaithaodin Gangmei wished that the New Year brings peace and prosperity, happiness, new goals, new achievements and many new inspirations.

"Hope that this New Year will be the best year for our new life.

May all the dreams and hopes be fulfilled by the Almighty Lord," said the release.
