Imphal, December 31 2018:
Shiv Sena has drafted a memorandum which would be submitted to Prime Minister Narendra Modi when he visits the State on January 4.Speaking to media persons at their Babupara office today, Shiv Sena State unit president M Tombi said that they would appeal to the Prime Minister through the memorandum to re-survey the boundary of Manipur so that the State retains its boundary which was there in 1949 when Manipur was merged into the Indian Union.
Another point listed in the memorandum says that the territorial integrity of Manipur should not be disturbed in any manner when a solution is worked out to the political dialogue going on between NSCN-IM and Government of India, Tombi said.
He said that he met the party' s National general secretary and MPs at Delhi recently and urged them to table some major issues of the State in the Parliament and all these issues are listed in the memorandum.
Almost half of the temple complex of Tamil Sangam built in 1964 within the Indian territory has now gone to the Myanmar side but no survey team of India has ever visited the site nor the State Government has ever informed the survey team about this, Tombi said adding that there is border row between India and Myanmar.
It is a matter of pride that India is building a 100 Km long road in Myanmar but the existing Condition of the road leading to Kwatha village is rather disappointing.
It is also a matter of grave concern that there are little or no educational infrastructure, health care facilities and or transport infrastructure at Kwatha and surrounding areas, Tombi said.
With the BJP-led coalition Government on the verge of completing two years, many changes have been witnessed in the State.
There are very few bandhs and no blockades, no long queues are seen in front of oil pumps and cases of fake encounters have declined by almost 99 per cent, Tombi remarked.
He then called upon the State Government to take up necessary measures in association with the Central Government to revive spinning mill, sugar mill and tea estate.
On behalf of Shiv Sena, Tombi also greeted all the people of Manipur on the arrival of new year and prayed that the new year may bring peace and harmony among all the communities of the State.
