Leishemba Sanajaoba joins public protest to demand ILPS

Imphal, July 30 2015: Titular king of Manipur Leishemba Sanajaoba took part in a sit-in protest to join the public demand for an ILP system in Manipur to safeguard its indigenous people at the Palace Compound on Thursday.

The Palace Gate was blocked by public to stage the sit-in which began in the morning and continued till late afternoon.

The sit in was jointly organized by Konung Manung Youth Club and meira paibi organization.

On the sidelines, the titular king demanded the Manipur Government to control the public sentiment cautioning that the State which has already been on boil could face an uncontrollable situation.

Leishemba Sanajaoba appealed to the Government not take in initiating a judicial enquiry into the killing of Sapam Robinhood who died in police crackdown on July 8 .

Similar protests were held at Chinga Makha community hall, Ayangpali, Wangkhei Pukhrabam Leirak, Ayangpalli road, Sagolband Langjing Achouba Bokul Makhong, Takyel Kolom Leikai, Moirnag Hanuba community hall, Tera Yengkhom Leirak.

Sit-ins were also staged at Sagolband Bijoy Govinda Lairenjam Leikai, Sagolband Kabrabam Leikai Keli Makhong, Sagolband Tera Keithel, Khamnam Leirak and Keishampat Keisham Leikai.

Mahabali Kabui Khun also organized a sit-in protest at Moirangkhom.

Sit-ins were also held at Khongman Mangjil, Khongman Road Club, Ayangpalli Pukhrambam Leirak.

Progressive Youth Development Organisation and Paraokhongbam Development Association, Awang Sekmai and Naran Sena Meira Paibi also held torch rallies on Wednesday night.
