Md Abdul Rahman, adding to the richness of literary wealth

The Northeast, which has over the years produced many talents, has added another feather to its cap through Mohammad Abdul Rahman, who has won great respect for his contribution to the society through his books.
Rahman was born in a poor family on January 2, 1935 at Keikhu Muslim Awang Leikai Village in Manipur.
After he completed his graduation, he joined LDC at the Directorate of Agriculture in 1955.He has written many books, novels, short stories and poems.
In most of his work he focuses on unification of different ethnic communities.
In the past, he also contributed many articles as a columnist.
He was conferred with Sahitya Bhushan in 2003 by Manipuri Sahitya Parishad and also awarded the title "Writers of the Year" in 2004 and received a Certificate of Honor in 2009 by State Central library.
"I want to remove the distinction of caste and give a message that we are all united.
We all live in one place, one country.
There is no difference between people," said Rahman.
"Meiteis and Muslims have now become quite open with each other.
They interact freely now.
During Id, we invite the Meiteis and have meals together.
This is a new thing.
There was a time when they used to remain separate but now they are moving towards harmony.
I feel that very soon they will unite," he added.
"Md Abdul Rahman is an eminent Meitei pangal writer.
In our Meitei pangal community there are few writers who deal with social issues or culture, but now some writers have come up.
I really appreciate his contribution to Islamic literature and I praise him for the work that he has done for our people," said Md.S.M Seikh, Treasurer, Writers' Union.
Rahman has made a significant contribution to literature and society.
Today he is a source of inspiration for many people.
