Imphal, September 28 2012: The Joint Coordination Committee of the Engineering Departments has notified the Government that it would launch several forms of agitation from October 17 .

The JCC has been demanding implementation of ROP to work-charge staff in the engineering departments and release of CDA for payment of salary for 17 months in PWD and IFCD.

It had earlier submitted a memo to the CM highlighting their grievances and demands.

As no positive response is coming from the Government towards the fulfilment of their demands, the JCC notified the Government today that it would launch stir from October 17 .

Its members would stage a dharna inside the PWD complex on October 17; organise hunger rally on October 18 and 19 and from October 20, the members would launch an indefinite hunger strike and ceasework strike, according to a notice of strike submitted to the CS by the JCC.
