JD (U) to press HM for written clarification

A team of Janata Dal (United), Manipur state unit would be leaving Imphal for Delhi tomorrow to press the Union Home Minister P Chidambaram for a written assurance in connection with his earlier denial over the controversial Supra-state body proposal to NSCN (IM) .
Talking to Hueiyen Lanpao, President of Janata Dal (United) Manipur state unit M Tombi disclosed that a four-member delegation comprising himself, President of Women's Wing of the party S Latasakhi, Vice President Md Jabar Khan and Finance Secretary Ram Nath Jha would be leaving for Delhi tomorrow to press the Union Home Minister for a written assurance to settle the issue once and for all.
"Denial by the Union Home Minister to the Chief Minister over such a proposal is not enough to dispel apprehension from the mind of the people.
A written assurance is essential", the party President contended, adding that there is still confusion over the issue.
"Reacting to the denial, Seven Sisters Post which first broke the news has called Chidambaram a liar and a 12-page document in support of the report has been brought to the public notice.
The JD (U) delegation is going to Delhi to settle the issue once and for all and press for a written assurance from the Union Home Minister", Tombi explained.
While in Delhi, the delegation would also meet National President of the party and NDA Convenor Sharad Pawar and NDA Spokesperson Sushma Swaraj to consult over various issues including proposal of Supra-state body, prolonged economic blockade along the National Highways, etc, the party President further disclosed.
