Inner Manipur constituency witnessing sag of growth in development milestones: Ministry

Minister of State for Education & External Affairs by Dr Rajkumar Ranjan Singh has stated that Manipur under the leadership of the NDA regime witnessed a ground breaking era of development, particularly in Housing and Urban development.
In a release, the ministry pointed out that over the past seven years, the proactive governance of the BJP-led state government, coupled with the instrumental role played by Dr Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, the sitting MP of Inner Manipur Lok Sabha constituency and current Union Minister of State for Education and External Affairs, played a pivotal role in achieving this historic progress.
According to available data, the Inner Manipur constituency witnessed substantial advancements since Dr Ranjan took charge, showcasing the tangible benefits of his representation.
As of August 2023, within the Inner Manipur Lok Sabha constituency, over 75 per cent of the 56,037 houses sanctioned under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana have received approval, with a central assistance approval of Rs 647.76 crores, it informed.
While pointing out that Imphal, the sole city from Manipur included in the Smart Cities Mission of the Government of India, falls within the Inner Manipur Lok Sabha constituency, the release stated that a total of Rs 513 crore has been allotted for 25 projects in Imphal, with 13 projects completed and 12 on-going.
All assembly constituencies within the Inner Manipur Lok Sabha constituency have achieved 100 per cent open defecation free status.
Additionally, 90 per cent of assembly constituencies achieved 100 per cent door-to-door collection of solid waste from households, and 85 per cent achieved 100 per cent in-source segregation.
Six projects under the AMRUT scheme, worth Rs 211.87 crores, are currently implemented within the constituency premises, with one project completed.
Under AMRUT 2.0, four projects worth Rs 37.03 crores have been approved within the constituency premises, and DPRs for two projects, valued at Rs 28.03 crores, are ready.
Of the 11,490 loans disbursed in Manipur state under the PM SVANidhi scheme, over 85 per cent were disbursed within the Inner Manipur Lok Sabha constituency, totalling Rs 11.86 crore.
Under the National Urban Livelihoods Mission, over 80 per cent of self-help groups formed in Manipur fall within the Inner Manipur Lok Sabha constituency, accounting for 2,756 groups.
Within the constituency, 9,336 candidates were trained, with 4,784 placed, as per the data available in August.
Moreover, 20,746 vendors were identified, and over 96 per cent of them were issued certificates of Vending and ID cards, the release informed, while adding that these achievements mark a monumental step towards holistic urban development, significantly enhancing the lives of citizens within the Inner Manipur Lok Sabha constituency and contributing to the broader vision of a developed Bharat by 2047 .
