Festival of music, culture and sports begins

A two-day long Youth's Music, Culture cum Sports Festival was kicked off from today at Aimol Tampak Village Play ground in Chandel District.
The festival is being organised jointly by Model Adult Education Centre, Aimol Tampak and REACH-M under the theme "Encourage the Youths in Music, Culture and Sports" .
The inaugural function of the festival was attended by Ch.
Wanoi, Headmaster of Kumbirei Primary School as Chief Guest; Kh.
Sumsongir, Chairman of Sengvai Tuisorok Kamsakoi Khompui as Guest of Honour and Thangpa Aimol, General Secretary of Aimol Tribe Union Manipur as Functional President.
During the function, colourful cultural dances of different tribes were presented and noted Aimol artiste Ms.Ngirsua enthralled the audience with her melodious songs.
Speaking on the occasion, Thangpa Aimol said that Peace and Development in the society depends on the youths as they are the pillar of the nation.
So, the role of youths is important in the promotion of peace and development in the society.
Moreover, it is the duty and responsibility of the youth to promote and preserve our own culture, which has been handed down to us by our forefathers from generation to generation.
Therefore, the youths should promote and preserve our distinct cultures and at the same time help in promotion of peace without which there will be no development.
