Imphal, August 25 2020:
To fill up shortage of manpower in health institutions particularly in district hospitals, the Directorate of Health Services has directed all Medical Officers including those who are allowed to work in their specialties to compulsorily do casualty and emergency duties in public interest.
In a memorandum dated August 24, the Directorate further instructed all specialist doctors in MHS Grade-III and above to mandatorily remain in station to attend to emergency calls in addition to their normal duties.
The memorandum instructed all Medical Superintendents/Medical Officers in-charge to immediately issue revised duty roster charts for MOs within one week's time.
