Imphal, August 24 2015: District Magistrate, Thoubal T Ranjit Singh on Monday imposed 144 CrPC in Thoubal district prohibiting assembly of five or more persons and carrying of sticks, stones, firearms, sharp weapons and other explosive materials etc with in effect from Monday 9.30 am until further orders.

However, this prohibitory order shall not apply to Government officials/machineries involved in the enforcement of law and order, military/paramilitary/police forces and other genuine urgent cases related to medical, water and power supply etc.

The order also will not apply to individuals with specific special permit issued by the District Magistrate, Thoubal and Superintendent of Police, Thoubal.

Prior written permits should be obtained from the office of the District Magistrate Thoubal on submission of written application stating the details and nature of the purpose.

The order issued by the District Magistrate Thoubal also notified that persons who want to take out procession for marriage, funeral, religious functions, unavoidable peaceful rallies etc within the district should apply to the District Magistrate Thoubal for permission.
