Imphal, January 24 2020: Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation (MoSPI), GoI invited nominations for the "Professor PC Mahalanobis National Award in official Statistics" for the year 2020 from Government Department/Autonomous Bodies, to promote excellence and recognise outstanding contribution made by the official statistician in the area of official/Administrative Statistics in India.

A press release issued by Deputy Director, Directorate of Econ & Statistics, GoM stated that the award carries a citation (signed by the Chief Statistician of India cum Secretary, MoSPI, Gol), cash prize of Rs 2,00,000 and memento.

The awardees will also be entitled for payment of TA/DA as per the rules and entitlement applicable to them, it added.

The award for 2020 will be conferred on Statistics Day celebration, which will be organised by MoSPI, Gol on June 29 .

The nomination and relevant document should be submitted to the Chief Secretary, GoM before February 2020 .
