Imphal, December 23 2018: Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) has clarified that the claim made by security forces regarding the arrest of one Kamei (n) Moirangthem (o) Rebika Devi w/o M Shamungou of NG College Leirak, Naoremthong (presently staying at Tera Amudon) on December 14 by a combined team of Imphal West commando and Assam Rifles along with a huge quantity of ammunition, is false and baseless.

A press release issued by the information and publicity wing of ZUF today claimed that so far, ZUF has notrecruited any female as its cadres nor does the organisation use any female.

It claimed that ZUF does not allow any female to be involved in its movement for demanding separate homeland/Statehood for Zeliangrong people and as such warned security forces against levelling any baseless, fabricated and concocted allegations.

On the other hand, ZUF also extended warm greetings to all the people irrespective of caste or religion, particularly to the Zeliangrong community, in light of the coming Christmas celebration.

ZUF also wished for the New Year to bring peace and harmony among the people.
