Foundation for health Training Centre laid

Health Minister Phungzathang Tonsing today laid the foundation stone for construction of an Rs 8.7 crores worth Training Centre of the State Health and Family Welfare at the complex of Research and Development Wing at Lamphelpat.
Speaking to mediapersons on the sideline of the function, Minister Phungzathang Tonsing said that since the State has not got any Regional Family Welfare Training centre, the Union Government has given the approval for setting up one in the state.
The training centre will be of immense help to the general public.
He also urged the doctors and medical professionals of the state to perform their duties with sincerity so as to make the state one of the healthiest in the whole country.
The Minister maintained that since Manipur is equipped with certain medical facilities, many patients from neighbouring states come to the state for treatment.
Moreover, the state is likely to receive the award for providing the best health care services to patients in India.

The foundation stone laying ceremony was also attended by Ram Muivah, Principal Secretary; L Achouba, Director of Family Welfare; A Bijoy, Health Director and other staff of the department.
