AR carries out tree plantation prog

Imphal, July 22 2020: The Keithelmanbi Battalion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles and Moreh Battalion of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR South planted tree saplings as part of tree plantation drive at Company Operating Base (COB), Lilong and Adullam Rehabilitation Center, Moreh on July 21 and 22.Over 650 saplings of different varieties were planted by the troops of AR and inmates of the Drug De-addiction Center, Moreh, with an aim to promote healthy and green environment.

The tree plantation drive was dovetailed with distribution of essential ration items, with an aim to help the centre in the times of COVID-19 and support the fight against drugs.

The chairman of the centre thanked Assam Rifles for taking up the tree plantation drive and expressed gratitude for providing rations in these stressed times.
