Imphal, May 21 2012: The Rapid Intervention and Care (RIAC) Project implemented by Integrated Women & Children Development Centre (IWCDC), Thangmeiband Yumnam Leikai and supported by Manipur State AIDS Control Society, organized an event to observe the 29th International AIDS Candlelight Memorial Sunday, 2012 under the theme "Promoting Health & Dignity Together" at the Project Site of RIAC yesterday.

The event's aim is to raise awareness around HIV and to promote respect for the human rights of People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLHAs).

Considering their need at the moment, Supportive Nutritional items were distributed to selected PLHAs who are on ARV, from the organization's project area.

Further, Candles were lit at the project site in the evening to show solidarity towards those who have passed away and also to show support for those who are living positively with HIV.
