AR helps Moreh residents

Assam Rifles troops helped the people of Moreh after JCILPS rally faced obstructions which later on turned violent on August 18.In a statement, PRO HQ IGAR (S) said there was stone pelting and violent clashes in Moreh due to the obstructions.
The Assam Rifles troops were on the roads at that time for their regular patrolling.
There was huge mob in the middle of the town and fighting started immediately.
At this juncture, few people arrived near the posts of 11 Assam Rifles and the violence was further intensified.
Going out of their way, the officers and men of the unit tried to discuss and pacify the mob.
The good gesture of the unit was completely sidelined and the unit itself became a victim of stone-pelting.
Still, the men out on patrolling continued with the good gestures and helped the students return from schools.
The AR personnel also escorted small children, said AR.
The AR personals even faced stone-pelting but assured students reached home safely.
Later Police came and started pacifying the burgeoning crowd.
Assam Rifles on its part kept up their humanitarian efforts and administered first-aid to three students and to a victim wounded by gun- shot and he has been identified as Lalminlen Zou (35) of Moreh Ward No-7 .
