5 UG cadres arrested

Imphal, March 20 2015 : Security Forces have arrested five UG cadres including women and a drug peddler on Thursday.

In a statement issued by PRO, Police Department RK Tutusana said acting on a reliable information about the movement of some valley based militants and over ground workers of UNLF in an around Yairipok area, a combined team of Thoubal District Police Commandos and 2 Assam Rifles (AR) conducted frisking and checking at Yairipok Bazar.

The frisking led to apprehending of two the organization added Tutusana.

PRO informed the arrested person have been identified as Soram Ibohal @ Koireng 50, son of late S Achou Singh of Yairipok Poiroukhongjil Soram Leikai and Namoijam Boinao 31, son of late N Amu Singh of Moreh ward No.7 Heinoukhong .

The release also added, based on the information provided by the arrested persons the combined team with Women Police arrested Thangjam Nandibala 44, wife of Md Ayub Khan of Moreh Ward No.7 Heinoukhong.

She has been identified a cadre of UNLF added the PRO and a case has been registered at Yairipok Police Station against the arrest and investigation is going on.

On another operations, added the release, a combined team of Imphal West District Police Commandos and Imphal East Police Commando conducted cordon and search operation at a house in Mantripukhri Lamlongei area, based on intelligence input about the presence of some active cadres of ZUF in and around Mantripukhri Lamlongei area and arrested one active member of ZUF organization identified as Poukhon Panmei alias Pundibonang 43, son of late Pauwaba Panmei of New Keithelmanbi Namching.

On his disclosure one 7.65 mm pistol with 4 live rounds were recovered from a bush located at Langol Laimanai Hill.
