Imphal, August 19 2015: Troops of the Assam Rifles launched operations in different places in last two consecutive days and arrested one cadre each of PREPAK, NSCN (K) and UNLF cadres.

The troops of the 20 AR of 26 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (S) conducted search operation at Maning Leikai and nabbed one PREPAK cadre on August 18. He was identified as Khangembam Bipin (24), S/o Manglemba of Khongjom but presently staying at Maning Leikai, Thoubal district.

In another operation, troops of the 20 Assam Rifles of 28 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR(S) arrested one NSCN (K) cadre from the area of Tuisimi on Wednesday.

He was identified as Mayanglangbam Malemba (58), S/o Late M Mani Chand of Khukarthil Chandel district.

A combined team of 2 AR of 9 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (S) and Thoubal Police Commandos established a joint vehicle check post in general area of Yairipok Market and apprehended one UNLF cadre on Tuesday.

The apprehendee was identified as No- 654 (Batch No 13th), SS Sgt, Yengkhom Anandajit alias Palem Ngakpa alias Kengba alias James S/o Late Y Tomba of Pallel Mamang Leikai near Laimayai.

Investigation revealed that he had laid ambush against BSF at Kwakta in 2001 and came to Yairipok to identify locations for placing IEDs.

The apprehendees were later handed over to their respective police stations.

Security forces arrested two KYKL and one KCP cadres on August 13 and August 18 in separate counter insurgency operations.

In a press release by PRO Police Department, RK Tutusana, a combined team of District Police Commando Bishnupur, 2 JAKLI and 34 AR conducted search operation at Naranseina Mayai Leikai and arrested one KYKL cadre on August 13.He was identified as Salam Kamraj (40), s/o S Chandra of Naranseina Mayai Leikai.

On the same day, a combined team of District Police Commando Bishnupur and 2/5 GR arrested one active member of KYKL, in Bishnupur bazar, identified as one Pukhrambam Bimol (28), son of P Koijomba of Wangoo Sabal Mayai Leikai.

Meanwhile, a team of District Police Commando Imphal West arrested one active member of KCP in Khurai Chaithibi identified as Lukram Johny (24), son of L Biramani of Moreh Turel Wangma Ward No-7 but presently staying at Khurai Chaithabi Leirak.

On his disclosure one 9mm pistol along with three live rounds and other incriminating articles were seized from the rented house of M Nabakesho of Khurai Nandeibam Leikai on the same day.
