Imphal, November 18 2020: Unidentified persons shot and injured one staff of BIPL (Bharatiya Infra Project Limited) at a railway bridge construction site at Awang Khunou under Patsoi police station, Imphal West district yesterday evening.

According to police sources, the injured person is identified as A Malik (32) of Dhubri district, Assam.

The incident happened yesterday at around 5 pm when unidentified persons suspected to be members of an underground outfit shot and injured the BIPL staff who was engaged in the construction work of a bridge for railway line at Awang Khunou.

The bullet hit the back of his right shoulder and went through.

He was evacuated to RIMS hospital and is receiving treatment, said sources.

Patsoi police have registered a case and investigation is on .
