Imphal, November 18 2017:
Education Minister Th Radheshyam and MAHUD Minister Th Shyamkumar, today, urged the Congress party not to create unrest in the State in light of it's recent protest against the Framework Agreement and the party's decision to not take part in Memorandum Drafting Sub-Committee meeting until NPF makes its stand clear.
Speaking to media persons at the MAHUD Minister's Office at New Secretariat today, the Ministers questioned the motive behind the constant protest by the Congress party in connection with the Framework Agreement and urged it to refrain from creating unrest in the State.
Education Minister Th Radheshyam said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself has clarified numerous times regarding the Framework Agreement and even BJP National President Amit Shah and the Home Minister have also appealed to the people not to panic.
But what have Sonia Gandhi and former PM, Manmohan Singh done, he asked.
Minister Radheshyam asked the Congress to criticise the Government for any shortcoming and laud it in equal measures for any of its achievements as well.
He expressed disappointment at the stunts pulled by the Congress at a time when the BJP Government is trying to put Manipur on the international radar through the Sangai festival and the business summit and asked what the Congress party has managed to accomplished during its 15 years rule.
He also urged the Congress party and all its elected members to give at least five years time to bring overall development in the State.
Radheshyam further asked if the Congress party is genuinely concerned about Manipur's future and alleged that if the party is resorting to protest regarding the Framework Agreement without any love for the State then it is just dirty politics.
On the other hand, speaking to media persons, MAHUD Minister Th Shyamkumar said that the BJP Government along with NPF, NPP and LJP is trying to bring development to both the hills and the valley and urged the Congress party to refrain from creating unrest among the people.
He pointed out that NPF is a party recognised by the Election Commission of India and its agenda does not include harming the territorial integrity of any State and asked why the Congress party is greatly apprehensive of the BJP joining hands with NPF.
Shyamkumar also brushed aside the allegations of the Congress that the promises made by BJP State Government regarding the developmental projects in the hill districts are just empty promises.
He said that one can easily learn about the authenticity of the projects by filing an RTI to the Departments concerned and added that the projects sanctioned for the hills are all included in the budget.
Radheshyam also challenged the Congress party to bring out any evidence which can prove that the projects and works announced an,d launched by the Chief Minister as well as all the Ministers are empty promises without any plans for funds or monetary sanction.
