Ukhrul, September 18 2018:
Tangkhul Mayar Ngala Long (TMNL) (Tangkhul Youth Council) has condemned the alleged display of "communal hatred" by the Kuki community in Churachandpur with erection of monoliths/stone tablets inscribed with words that allege "Kuki genocide" was committed by "Tangkhul led NSCN-IM".
In an open letter to Chief Minister, TMNL questioned the morale of Govt and Cabinet Ministers from Kuki community over the matter and sought explanation for their silence over the "display of hate towards a community" .
"We appreciated your Govt when the hate campaign on the mobile phones from somebody in the mainland on ILP related issue was banned.
However, this wanton show of communal hatred and con-condemnation from the Ministers from the Kuki community and those people representing the district where the hate campaign was launched is something to test the mettle of your leadership as Chief Minister of the State," said Thanmi LM, president TMNL in the open letter to the CM.
