Water supply scheme not functioning properly

Thoubal, April 18 2020: Saying that Khoirom-Heitroipokpi water supply scheme at Yairipok Heitroipokpi under Wangkhem Assembly Constituency is not functioning properly and the same has led to acute water shortage in the area, Youth Unemployed Development Organisation (YUDO),Yairipok has appealed to the MLA, Zilla Parishad Member and Pradhan concerned to look into the matter to address the grievances of the public at the earliest.

In this regard, a press release signed by the secretary of YUDO, H Pramodkumar said that pipes were laid to provide water to the locals of Khoirom and Heitroipokpi villages by the aforementioned water supply scheme, however, only those who reside near the water supply scheme received the water.

He then appealed to all concerned to make sure that households which are covered by the scheme get their due share of water to mitigate the suffering of COVID-19 crisis to some extent at the earliest.
