AR organises medical camp at Ukhrul village

Ukhrul, March 18 2021:
Somsai Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organised a one day medical camp at Poi village, Ukhrul, today.
The medical camp was organised as a part of the continuous effort of the Assam Rifles under the Assam Rifles Civic Action Programme to improve health care service of the rural people under the jurisdiction of the 27 Assam Rifles in Ukhrul district.
It may be mentioned that the nearest PHC Centre is 25 km away from Poi village under Chingai block, Ukhrul.
Three doctors along with Paramedical staff were engaged for the medical camp attended by about 800 villagers.
Basic medical requirements of the villagers were attended to and in addition, COVID-19 mitigation equipment such as masks, sanitizer, Hypochlorite solution, Oxymeter, IR thermometers along with general aid medicines were distributed to the villagers.
The efforts of the Assam Rifles were greatly lauded by the locals and village authorities.
Likewise, Somsai Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) also organized a one day 'Seminar on Career Counselling' at St Joseph College in Ukhrul town.
The seminar was organised with the aim of empowering the students with information regarding the multitude of career options available so that they can make informed decisions.
Renowned motivator Ranjan Kumar Baruah who attended the programme as the resource person encouraged the students to choose their career in the right time to achieve their personal goals.
Later, Ranjan Kumar Baruah also conducted an interactive session to boost the confidence of the students.
600 students from 6 villages of Ukhrul attended the seminar.
The college Principal, professors and students expressed their profound gratitude and urged the Assam Rifles to conduct more programmes in the future.
