ZUF nabs four cadres of Raitu group

Imphal, July 17 2022: The armed Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) reportedly nabbed four cadres of Raitu Kamson group including deputy secretary (social welfare), who have joined the NSCN (U) and indulged in extortion activities in Noney district.

According to a statement of ZUF, the nabbed cadres are self-styled deputy secretary (social welfare) Dingtiplung Gon-mei of Laishok (Soubunglong) village, SS second lieutenant Douthuingam Gonmei of Nungadang (Goiteng) village, SS private Luk Rongmei of Lohrijan (Nagaland) and SS area in-charge Alur of Dolang village.

One of their accomplices namely Meichingrei alias MC of New Jalukie (Nagaland) managed to escape from their hideout, the statement said adding that several arms and ammunitions were recovered from the possession of the nabbed cadres.

The ZUF statement issued by information & publicity secretary John Pame further said that the cadres were nabbed during an operation conducted by special mission ZUF upon learning that some cadres Raitu Kamson group who joined NSCN (U) carried out extortion activities at Dolang area on July 16 midnight.

The special mission was conducted in view of repeated extortion activities carried out by Raitu Kamson group despite warning.

Meanwhile, the ZUF welcomed Sikam Thaimei of Raitu Kamson group on joining the outfit on July 8 along with one AK 47 rifle and 200 live rounds.
