JAC calls on police for investigation

Imphal, July 17 2015 : Joint Action Committee (JAC) which was formed against the death of Konthoujam Devla (20), W/o K Amarjit of Kakmayai Mamang Leikai has urged the authorities for an investigation into the death failing which they warned to launch agitations.

Devla's death is suspicious in nature since she called her sister and informed of her condition before she died, said JAC member W Sanaton at a press meet on Friday.

Adding that it was not satisfactory when Nongpok Sekmai police simply said 'FIR has been lodged' and 'enquiry is going on' the JAC member said dead body would not be claimed till a proper and satisfactory inquiry is made in this regard.

If the police fails to do so, the JAC will launch agitations till their demand is met.
