Imphal, March 17 2015: An annual General Body meeting of Scheduled Tribe Demand Committee was held on March 15, at 11am at THAU Sports Complex, Thangmeiband, presided by committee President, Prof Yumnam Mohendro.

Works and achievements of the committee till date along with financial transactions were discussed in the meeting.

Present committee members namely; President, Prof Yumnam Mohendro, Working President, Moirangthem Naudalandkhomba and General Secretary, Lt.Col.Laishram Lokendra and other executive members were retained as office bearers of the Committee for the next two years.

The committee added two women members and eight new members.

The meeting ended with a joint decision to take up further necessary measures to include Meitei as Scheduled Tribe under Article 342 (1) of the Constitution, said a press release by the committee secretary.
