IGAR (S) recovers contraband drugs

Imphal, August 16 2014 : Based on specific intelligence regarding ferrying of contraband drugs along NH 202, troops of 16 Assam Rifles of 10 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) established a vehicle check post at Mahadev Camp and apprehended three individuals alongwith the contraband drugs on 13 Aug 2014.The suspicious vehicle, a Truck Registration Number NL 02K 8059, was stopped for checking, resulting in the apprehension of three individuals identified as Thomba Singh (45) S/o Late Bira Singh of Pungdombam, PS- Lamlai, Dist Imphal East; Chouba Singh (60) S/o Late Tomba Singh of Lamlai, PS- Lamlai, Dist Imphal East and Binei Singh (56) S/o Thoiba of Sekta, PS- Lamlai, Dist Imphal East.

Approximately 275 Kg of Ganja was recovered from their possession.

The apprehendees alongwith the recovered items have been handed over to the Litan Police station, according to a statement issued by PRO IGAR (S) .
