Police seize ammos put on 'sale' in Senapati

Senapati, February 15 2022:
Senapati Police seized a large cache of ammunition that was being sold illegally at Senapati Bazaar on Tuesday.
Acting on tip off that some illegal arms and ammunition were being sold at Phimu Electronic Shop, Senapati Bazaar, a Senapati Police team led by SP Karthick Malladi accompanied by additional SP (LO) and additional SP (NH-2) rushed to the said shop and conducted search.
During the search, a huge cache of ammunition was recovered from the shop and the same was seized in the presence of SDO Purul, Senapati Lunguiba Thangal.
The seized items included 440 rounds of 'shaktiman' express plastic cartridges, 70 rounds of 'Lakshya' gun cartridges, 50 rounds of boult gun cartridges, 40 rounds of .22 rifle ammunition, 50 packets of 4.8 gun pellet, 19 packets of LG gun pellet, 44 packets of gun cartridge cap and hard disc of CCTV camera.
In connection with the case, the owner of the shop identified as Kaikho Adahrii alias Adahrii Moses Phimu (31), son of (L) Kaikho of Song Song village, but presently residing at Church Road Colony, Senapati was arrested.
On questioning, the owner admitted to have been selling such live ammunition without any legal license for the last 2-3 years.
A Suo Moto case under FIR No.7(2) 2022 has been registered at Senapati police station under Section 25(I-C) of Arms Act for further investigation.
Addressing media persons, SP Karthick informed that a district police team raided the shop and found two persons selling the illegal items.
During the search operation, the team found a cache of ammunitions being stored and sold without any license.
