Thoubal, February 15 2020: Manipuri Sahitya Parishad Thoubal District has observed the 80th birth anniversary of Moirangthem Rajendra, an acclaimed writer of the State, today, at Royal Academy, Lamding, Thoubal District.

The writer, who was born in February 15, 1941 at Tentha Khunjao Mayai Leikai, had penned 10 books.

Even today, the writer, is actively promoting Manipur's literature at his level best.

Khorirol Sandok Lup Wangjing president, Tongbram Babulan; Manipuri Sahitya Parishad Thoubal District former president, Kartik Maiba and Ningol Khut Manipur, Wangjing president Khundongbam Gunamani graced the observance as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.

As part of the observance, altogether 4 books of M Rajendra, were released.

Of the 4 books released, two books "Heirem Khunjan Chamburam" and "Eigi Thammoi Kurukshetra Da" were re-released (earlier released in 1983 and 2002 respectively) .

Laishram Jugeshor from Wangjing presented a simple gift to Rajendra and over 30 poets recited poem as part of the function.
