Imphal, July 14 2015 :
Joint Students Coordination Committee (JSCC) on Tuesday appealed to the state government not to militarize in the education institutions, instead make education a free zone.
Speaking to media persons at MSF office, JSCC Convener Jayenta Khuman said the JSCC welcomes the Education Minister M Okendro's statement to reopen the educational institutions from July 16.However he condemned the announcement that police forces will be deployed near the institutes to foil any ILP campaign by the students.
Jayenta said "no organisation uses students in the ILP movement but students themselves willingly and voluntarily came out and supported in the public movement".
JSCC further urged the state government to introduce another ILP bill which will be acceptable to the public in the special Assembly session.
He warned that if the government failed to introduce another ILP bill in the Assembly the students' organizations continue their agitations.
