Awang Potsangbam Khullen wants hospital instead of stadium

Imphal, December 13 2019: Awang Potsangbam Khullen Chaokhat Khongthang Apunba Nupi Lup denounced proposed construction of any stadium in open areas and grounds at Awang Potsangbam area today.

Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club, Imphal, the Lup's secretary M Indrani said that the locals of the area are against construction of stadium.

She mentioned that three organisations- Awang Potsangbam Khullen Chaokhat Khongthang Apunba Nupi Lup, Brighter Club and Social Development Assn had in the past decided not to give land for construction of stadium and other institutions except hospital.

The area has two major grounds - Awang Lampak and Makha Lampak.

People of the area need hospital.

The locals and organisations concerned welcome construction of hospital, she said cautioning the authorities concerned that they will launch agitation if construction of the stadium is undertaken.
