KCP cadres arrested, arms recovered

Search operations were conducted by security forces in different parts of the state and recovered various arms and ammunition, apart from apprehending two cadres of the armed KCP (Nongdrenkhomba) on Monday.
According to a statement of police control room, Manipur police arrested two active members of KCP (Nongdrenkhomba) from Paona Bazar area identified as Hirom Kisan Meitei alias Luckyson (22) and Waikhom Somenkumar Singh alias Dexter (22) .
Both are involved in extortion cases.
The police recovered two mobile phones, six demand letters, and a two-wheeler from their possession.
In a separate operation, a combined team of Imphal East district police commandos, Sagolmang police, and personnel of 28 and 22 AR conducted search at Champhai Hill from 4 am to 7:30 am on Tuesday.
They recovered three improvised explosive launchers (Bompi), a camouflage magazine pouch, and a BP jacket.
The seized items have been handed over to Sagolmang police station for further legal action.
Additionally, Thoubal police along with BSF personnel, carried out a search operation at Khongjom bazar from 5 am to 6 am on Tuesday.
During the operation, 27 houses were searched, and 76 individuals were verified.
There is no report of arrest or seizure made.
Meanwhile, Indian Army and Manipur police searched Saikul area leading to recovery of a 9mm pistol, a single-barrel 12-bore long-range rifle, two modified long-range mortars (pompi), two grenades, and other warlike items.
