House-to-house testing, vaccination prog conducted

Imphal, July 13 2021:
In sync with the announcement of state government to conduct house-to-house Covid testing drive; Primary Health Centre Hiyanglam along with SEDO Hiyanglam, which is a joint body of 11 clubs in Hiyanglam area conducted tests by selecting two people from every household of Hiyanglam Makha Leikai on Tuesday.
During the testing drives conducted under the supervision of Hiyanglam MLA Dr Radheshyam Yumnam, samples of 233 people were examined at Hiyanglam Makha Leikai Club ground, out of which 30 people were found to be infected by Covid-19.Later, a mass vaccination camp was organised for the people who tested negative for Covid-19.In all, 150 people received Covid vaccine during the mass vaccination.
Meanwhile, under the supervision of Wangkhem MLA Keisham Meghachan-dra and Thoubal district administration, Covid Task Force Yairipok Singa conducted Covid vaccination programme for the second time at Singa Bishnunaha Upper Primary School.
Altogether, 209 people got the jab during the vaccination programme.
The vaccination programme was also attended by members of SIC Singa.
Similarly, a mass vaccination programme was held for the second time at Langmeithet (Polling no 33/14), which is under Heirok Assembly Constituency.
In all, 112 people were inoculated with the first dose of Covid vaccine in the mass vaccination drive organised by Nongpok Sekmai PHC staff and people of Langmeithet under the supervision of Heirok MLA Dr Thokchom Radheshyam.
It may be recalled that 208 people got vaccinated against Covid-19 in the first vaccination drive held on July 6.On the other hand, Brightway Club, Kwakeithel Lamdong organised a mass vaccination programme at its campus on Tuesday.
The mass vaccination programme was attended by club president Heisnam Kipgen Mangang, secretary Thounaojam Shantikumar Meitei, Imphal West adhakshya RK Taruni, Naoriya Pakhanglakpa Gram Panchayat pradhan Kshetrimayum Romita Devi and SDC Hiyangthang Hohoi Vaiphei among others.
Manipur Rajya Sabha MP Leishemba received his second dose of Covid vaccine during the vaccination programme, which also had 478 people inoculated against Covid-19.Dr Ngangbam Bony and his team of three ASHA workers and BLO conducted the vaccination programme.
