8th farmers' club opened in Thoubal district

Thoubal, March 13 2018: Krishi Vigyan Kendra Thoubal in association with Manipur Regional Office of the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) today opened "Farmers' Welfare Association Wangjing Wangkhei" at Wangjing Wangkhei under Wangjing Tentha AC.

The farmers' club is 8th such club in Thoubal and Kakching district.

The joint venture of KVK Thoubal and NABARD is aiming to establish 10 farmers' club in the two districts.

Assistant General Manager of NABARD Manipur Region RK Yaiphaba Meitei, KVK Thoubal SMS Plant Pathology Dr M Thoithoiba, Manager of Manipur Rural Bank Wangjing Gourabi, senior scientist and Head of KVK Thoubal Dr S Zeshmarani and ward no 8 member of Wangjing Municipal Council L Damu attended the event as dignitaries.

Officials at the event appealed the farmers to adopt new and improved technology in agriculture.

Farmers were further advised to maintain healthy relationship with the banks to help improve their economy and increase their productions.
