Remand for assault

Imphal, February 13 2020:
CJM, Imphal West, on February 10, remanded a 30 year old man identified as Angom Friday to judicial custody for brutally assaulting his ex-girlfriend in a garden located at Changangei in an act which went viral on social media sites.
Following the incident, the victim filed a complaint before Lamphel PS on February 5 claiming that on February 3, his ex-boyfriend Angom Friday alias Tomba alias Eraijao s/o (L) Pakchao of Phayeng Ching Khunou, who was in a relationship with her way back in 2015 (but lost touch completely) punched her head, tummy and hips apart from hitting her head on the walls of a garden at Changangei.
Claiming that she received severe injuries, she alleged that Angom Friday got violent for refusing to give him her mobile phone.
Based on the complaint, a regular case was registered and Angom Friday surrendered before Lamphel PS on February 7 .
During interrogation, he admitted to the charges levelled against him.
After the completion of police remand, Friday was produced before CJM Imphal West along with a prayer on February 10, for further remand injudicial custody remand till February 24, which the Court granted.
On the other hand, Friday's counsel filed a bail application to secure his release, before the Court.
After registering a Cril misc bail case, the Court fixed tomorrow for the bail hearing.
