Covid curbs extended till June 17 in Senapati

Senapati, June 12 2021:
Senapati district administration on Saturday extended containment measures till June 17.In this connection, District task force, Senapati recommended continuation of ongoing containment measures till June 17 in Senapati headquarters, Maram bazar, Tadubi town and Mao town.
The containment zone restrictions expire on June 13.The task force reportedly took the decision in its meeting held on June 12 after due consideration of the current COVID-19 situation in the district.
An order issued by Senapati district magistrate Mahesh Chaudhari, stated that Covid-19 positive cases are still being detected daily in the district despite utmost precautionary measures taken up within the district jurisdiction.
The mass testing of shopkeepers and taxi drivers (including autos) in different locations of the district was started on June 9 in preparation for relaxation of containment measures.
However, many positive cases were detected among them.
The district magistrate's order also announced relaxation of containment measures, with effect from June 18, for shops selling essential commodities, allowing them to open from 6 am to 2 pm daily with strict adherence to Covid-19 SOP.
The order directed that all shopkeepers including women's market vendors (if anyone left out during last round of testing) and taxi drivers (including autos) must mandatorily have Covid-19 negative report for opening the shops and plying taxi before June 18.Senapati district headquarters has been divided into three Zones and people residing in each zone shall be allowed to travel to Senapati bazar for purchase of essential commodities as follows: Zone-1: Vakho, council, TNK , Makhrelui , Viewland (permitted days - Monday & Thursday); Zone-2: Kathikho, Khabung, Mao Karong, Namdailong Rongmai, Katomei, Katomei Makeng, Zingsho Katomei, Katomei Centre, Christian colony (Tuesday & Friday); and Zone- 3: Taphou Pudunamei, Taphou Naga, Rikhumai Taphou, Mao Taphou, Taphou Phyamai, Taphou Liangmai, Emesiiphro, Taphou Ngaihang and Taphou Onaeme (Wednesday & Saturday).
People residing in different sub-divisions of the district shall be allowed to travel to Senapati for purchase of essential commodities from Senapati bazaar - Paomata and Chilivai-Phaibung (permitted days - Monday & Thursday), Purul and Wilong (Tuesday & Friday), Song Song and Mao-Maram (Wednesday & Saturday) and Senapati (other than villages in district HQ - Monday & Thursday) .
