Post of OSD unnecessary: JNMS teachers

Imphal, December 11 2020: Teachers' Association of JN Institute of Medical Sciences said the post of 'Officer on Special Duty' (OSD) is absolutely unnecessary at the institute.

A statement released by the association said they have learnt from a reliable source that a new post of OSD is going to be created.

The association said the administrative function can be smoothly carried out by a capable Director aided by an existing MCS Officer as Deputy Director (Admin) and another MCS Officer as Deputy Director (Finance) and the creation of the post of OSD will only increase the red tape and exhaust the public fund which is already scarce.

The fund that will be consumed by creation of a new post of OSD can be utilised in some other developmental works for the institute, added the statement.
