RIMS to have 150 MBBS seats

The number of seats for MBBS students in RIMS is all set to be increased from the present 100 to 150 .
Disclosing this today, Prof S.Sekharjit, Director of RIMS, said that the formal announcement is about to be made.
Out of 150 seats, there will be reservations for OBC students as per guidelines of Government of India.
The RIMS authority has been insisting on infrastructural facilities ahead of the increase of the seats.
It is understood that the necessary infrastructures would be provided shortly, the Director added.
Meanwhile, the Director has issued an office memorandum notifying that some doctors and paramedical staff have been indulging in private practice at their homes and clinics, and said that attention of CBI, Central vigilance office, Income tax department has been drawn to this matter.
The RIMS authority also takes a serious view of this illegal practice.
The authority is cautioning the doctors, paramedical staff including nurses against these illegal practices.
