AAMSU demands Manipur Bhavan construction in Silchar

Imphal, November 10 2014:
All Assam Manipuri Students'; Union (AAMSU) submitted memorandum to the Chief Minister of Manipur O.Ibobi Singh and the Forest and Environment Minister Th Devendra today demanding construction of a Manipur Bhavan at Rongpur in Silchar.
In the memorandum, the students body said construction of a Bhavan is required to facilitate the Manipuris visiting Assam in view of the Look East Policy.
Despite the state government has allotted lands for the proposed Manipur Bhavan at Silchar, no necessary action for construction of the Bhavan has been taken up so far.
AAMSU demanded the state government to take up necessary action to construct the Manipur Bhavan without delay.
Source said, AAMSU also demanded the completion of construction of National Highway 37 (Imphal to Silchar), which is the lifeline of Manipur connecting people of Manipur with Assam and the outside world.
The demands also included opening of a full-fledged satellite Manipuri channel to enable the Manipuris of the world to access to the Manipuri Programmers.
Launching of such a channel will help in bringing unity, fraternity and love among the Manipuris settled in different parts of the world.
The Memorandum was signed by Seram Herajit, President of AAMSU, Central Committee and Pangambam Nilkanta, Secretary General of AAMSU.
All the important members of AAMSU also attended during the submission of memorandum.
