Tamenglong, December 07 2017: The Tousem Area Students' Organisation (TASO) has cautioned the public to remain alert as TASO could begin its stir any time soon if the State Government fails to meet the demands of the organisation before the stipulated time .

A press release issued by the organisation stated that it has been urging the State Government to shift the Tousem Sub Divisional offices along with medical department and police security , which is presently functioning from Tamenglong Headquarters, to Tousem Sub Division .

The organisation conducted a consultative meeting on November 8 and a memorandum was also submitted to the Chief Minister through Tamenglong DC, Armstrong Pame by TASO, Tousem Block VACC, Tousem Headquarters Students’ Union (THSU), Tousem Social Welfare Forum (Phaitol to Barak), Land & Boundary Protection Committee, Zeme Students’ Organisation Manipur (ZSOM) and Namtiram, Niamning, Phellong, Taningjam (NNPT) .

The authority concerned has not taken up any necessary steps till date, despite the repeated appeals, it stated .

The organisation would be compelled to launch democratic form of agitation if the State Government and the authority concerned continues to turn a blind eye to the demands of the organisations, it added.
